“I’m devoted to giving shape to my imagination without limitations of fields"
Born in 1984 Helen is an independent artist.
Her aesthetic is simple, rough, almost cruel in its ironic and at times childish like statement. “I’m devoted to giving shape to my imagination without limitations of fields”, in this sentence is the essence of an artistic research that from dance spills into visual art, film, costume and community art.
She studied animated cinema in Urbino, Italy graduated with BA (Hons) in Dance-Theatre at the Trinity Laban College in London, UK and in 2019 she gained a professional qualification as a theatre costume maker at the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini in Jesi, Italy.
She received scholarships for Dancewebeurope2007, Choreoroam2009 and Daghda Mentoring Programme2010 and in 2013 studied with Virgilio Sieni at the Venice Dance Biennale College. In 2004 she received the Signor Rossi award for the animated film Soggettiva Oggettiva. In 2010 she was awarded with the NuoveSensibilità Prize for the work Dulcis in Pomerio. In 2014 the Venice Dance Biennale commissioned her the work Post Grammatica for dance talents aged between 10 and 14 years old. In October 2017 the show Something After/Qualcosa dopo wan the Principi Attivi Contemporary Choreography Contest.
